About Me!
Hello, my name is Autumn Fraser. I’m a full-time artist and art class/event instructor. I’ve been creating all my life; art has always been a passion of mine. My first art classes and events were hosted through the Kansas City public library. From teen art lock ins, origami classes for grade schoolers, we even had the first anime/manga class there! I was able to instruct so many fun classes in my five years there.
After my time at the library, I wanted to involve myself in my community. I began working as the vice president of operations at JoJo Knows learning center. During my time there I was able to host and manage art, education and exercise events in Kansas City. While I was growing as a local artist, I became unsure of what my next steps would be. I had a few exhibitions and started to do pop-ups locally, but I wanted to do more. I loved creating, teaching and sharing the love of making art with my community. My goal was to create a place where I could do all three.
Shortly after deciding to become a full-time artist, I found a local art school who had been looking for an illustrator to instruct anime drawing lessons. I love manga and anime art and decided to give it try, it amazingly became popular exponentially. I’m forever grateful for the success in the class and the support from the community. The class was so popular we began to get request for more classes, different types of art events, paint and sips etc. After the art school closed, we needed a place to host these big classes
. We downsized and moved to the heart of waldo. Initially I was worried about the move, however we’ve found our community who supports and love our art classes and events! We now have art classes and events monthly! It’s been an amazing journey. My goal is coming to fruition of creating a space where everyone of all ages feels safe and excited to make art. Art is for everyone.
